Could Magnesium improve my skin?

Skin Care

Ahh skin… Good old skin.

It’s so useful for keeping all our organs and stuff from falling out.

Honestly, who could live without it?

Well… No one, obviously.

Seeing as we’re covered in skin, we should probably look after it and keep it looking presentable. It's not like you can really hide it. After all, it basically covers every inch of our bodies.

So, if you would like to keep your skin healthy, allow me to introduce you to the wonders of Magnesium.

Magnesium can do amazing things for your skin’s appearance.

Having a healthy amount of Magnesium in your body can better regulate your sebum production, keeping your skin bouncy, moisturised and giving it a healthy glow.

Not only can Magnesium make your skin look good, it can make it smell good too.

This is why it's often one of the primary ingredients used in deodorant, as it counteracts odor-causing bacteria on the skin.

Magnesium is also necessary to maintain your skin’s protective barrier that shields it from hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

There's a single mineral that can keep your skin looking good, smelling good and provide all-round protection?

Oh yeaaah - and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Magnesium is particularly effective for cleansing your skin, making it the perfect remedy for Acne.

Pimples, zits and blackheads are typically caused by excess oils mixing with dead skin cells and blocking the pores on the surface of your skin.

I really hope you’re not eating while reading this.

Anyway, the application of Magnesium will rid your skin of excess oils and thoroughly clean out your pores. This tackles both the cause and symptoms of the problem and leaves your skin lovely and smooth.

“Take that, Acne!”

If you thought that Magnesium still wasn’t quite harsh enough on acne, wait till you hear this. Not only can it tackle both the cause and the symptoms, it can also lower your cortisol production, stabilising the hormonal imbalance that causes acne in the first place. Regular application can even reduce the likelihood of it ever rearing its ugly whiteheads and blackheads ever again.

Wow, I’m actually starting to feel a little sorry for Acne.

Magnesium can also be useful for managing skin conditions like Eczema and Psoriasis.

Its application can counteract their symptoms and help to heal affected areas, reducing the roughness and inflammation. Eczema and Psoriasis are exacerbated by stress and anxiety. Luckily, Magnesium has calming properties that can also help to reduce the likelihood of stress induced flare ups.

Free radicals are unstable atoms in the body that can damage your cells. It is theorised that the continual cell damage caused by them is at least partially responsible for the aging process. The use of Magnesium can limit the damage of free radicals, significantly reducing lines and wrinkles in your skin. So, if you want to keep your skin looking youthful and avoid looking like a human Shar Pei, Magnesium can do the trick.

Hopefully you learned a couple of things about keeping your skin healthy.

I don’t know about you but when it comes to ways of retaining a youthful appearance, I think a lovely Magnesium bath on a friday night is probably more relaxing than invasive plastic surgery. I can’t say I’ve tried the latter though so who knows? Maybe it's a very pleasant experience… maybe… Anyway, I hope you gained some benefit from this, thank you for reading.
